Kinectimals

The Audio Guys are really chuffed to announce that we recently had the chance to hook up with Frontier Developments in Cambridge, to help out on ‘Kinectimals’, a great new game that uses Microsoft’s new Kinect camera based, controller-less system.
In Kinectimals, players can interact with virtual animals in a manner akin to pets, gameplay includes activities such as teaching tricks to the animal, guiding the animal around an obstacle course, and free-form play for example hide and seek. Kinectimals invites children, their parents and animal lovers of all ages to build lasting friendships with some of the world’s most exotic creatures. Just like real pets, your “Kinectimals” will come running when they hear your voice, respond to commands such as “jump,” “roll over” and “play dead,” and purr with joy when you scratch them behind their ears.
TAG worked for 2 months with Frontier, helping the team with environmental audio and ambience implementation for the game. It was a great game to be involved with, being a flagship Microsoft ‘Kinect’ game and it should go down really well, especially with the under 10 year olds.

‘Kinectimals’ is released in November, and you will need an Xbox 360 and a ‘Kinect’ hardware unit.
Have fun!
